In general, over half of all Life Insurance Policies are surrendered before reaching their full term. Instead of the low buy-back price offered by the insurer („surrender value”), which normally is markedly below the true value of the policy, investors offer the seller a higher price.
For the investor this means a solid investment that is reliably calculable. This investment market is called Secondary Market Life Insurance Policies and exists, above all, in Great Britain, Germany and the USA. In the USA, however, the focus is on the life insured, as there is merely or no savings portion within the policy. |
